Here’s to [...] The guys at Heartland Brewery are kicking off a full 10 day of celebrating beer, starting with their Brewfest this Friday and ending with the 2nd Annual Manhattan Cask Ale Festival at the Chelsea Brewing Company, which features 45 cask-conditioned ales available per pour from noon to midnight the weekend of the 19th. [...] New York City, a Dutch colony in the 1600s known as New Amsterdam, will serve as the base for a mock “Dutch Takeover” on May 15 to support a new campaign by Heineken and Amstel Ligh. This effort to “reclaim” the Amsterdam Avenue section of Manhattan will include a nod to the bicycle culture of [...] The guys at the BeerAdvocate are putting together a great Craft beer festival Boston on the weekend of June 20th and 21st. One focuses on Belgian Brews and the other there’s now restriction to flavor, malt or style. Both claim over 100 brews to sample and are both around the same cost. This Saturday is the third annual New York Beer on the Pier festival. The event allows patrons to taste about 40 brews from majors such as Guinness, Singha, HB Hofbrauhaus and Redhook, local big dogs Heartland and Brooklyn, to smaller brewers such as Keegan Ales and Zyweic Porters.
