Billyburg es en Fuego!

New York pub crawls: Because your regular drinking dens are like following the spin-dry cycle

Billyburg es en Fuego!

This was by far one of the funnest (and cheapest) crawls we’ve done. I’m happy that many came out but as expected most didn’t make the trip until after 6 pm. All the same, the hardcore’s are there and will stay with it till the end.

I’ve found some of my new favorite spots in Wiliamsburg including Spuyten Duyvil and Larry Lawrence. We quite a group turn out for the brewery tour and then it tapered off but picked up again around Spuyten. We had some terrible service at Mugs Alehouse and although I liked the outdoor patio, the service made me not want to ever go back. The Charleston was an interestingly decorated bar with great deals on brew here – I would definitely hang here in the day or later in the evening. Greenpoint tavern was oldddd-skool… Some old dogs in this spot and the juke was rotating between country and 80’s hair metal while we were there. Not sure I would go back unless I brought my drunk grandma, got out of a teamsters meeting or just wanted to meet some randoms around the hood. Union pool, I liked the space, but don’t remember much of the people – I think that says something as it is about a bar…

Here are some of the memories:
